Are you looking to improve body image and self-esteem? Body confidence and positive self-esteem have been shown to reduce body dissatisfaction, negative mood, unhealthy dieting and disordered eating. This group for adults ages 18 and older engages participants in the development of a healthy body image by acknowledging unrealistic beauty ideals and challenging personal body-related negative thinking.
Join Licensed Clinical Social Worker Jenna Straus as she leads you through an in-person, eight-week skills-building program where you will:
- Learn how to feel good about your body
- Discover the effects of social media on self-esteem
- Increase awareness of distorted thinking and beliefs
- Encourage an acceptance of self and appearance
- Foster an understanding of body positivity
- Learn self-care strategies to manage stress
- Develop a healthy relationship with yourself
- Acquire coping skills to better manage negative thoughts and feelings
This group therapy program will be billed to your health insurance.
As this event is held in-person at a health care facility, all attendees are required to wear facemasks indoors except when actively eating or drinking. This is in compliance with guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the New Jersey Department of Health and is subject to change.
