Women looking for a comprehensive breast program that is nationally recognized, but also convenient, can find all they are looking for at Capital Health’s Center for Comprehensive Breast Care. Located at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell, the Center has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.
“This is a significant accomplishment and honor, and I’m extremely proud of the entire team who committed to making the breast center another center of excellence that will elevate Capital Health’s reputation for providing high quality care in a very personalized environment,” said Capital Health President and CEO Al Maghazehe.
“We are extremely proud of this designation. It recognizes a program that comprehensively provides women with a wide range of breast care services, including annual screenings, diagnosis of breast diseases, and treatment and support for women who need our full continuum of care in dealing with breast cancer,” said breast center director and fellowship trained breast surgeon, Dr. Lisa Allen. “What makes us unique is that we are able to offer all of these state of- the-art services under one roof, making it extremely patient-focused and convenient.” Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to centers that voluntarily commit to providing the highest level of quality breast care and undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. During the survey, the center must demonstrate compliance with standards established by the NAPBC for treating women who are diagnosed with the full spectrum of breast disease.
A breast center that achieves NAPBC accreditation has demonstrated a firm commitment to offer its patients every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease. The Center for Comprehensive Breast Care provides a complete range of services under one roof, from annual screenings and advanced diagnostics to genetic testing, leading-edge oncology care, a high-risk breast cancer program, and a nurse navigator.
The Center includes the latest technologies and experienced physicians who can address a variety of breast related conditions, either malignant in nature (cancerous) or benign. The warm, patient-centered environment even includes a spa with a special program just for oncology patients.
