Ten surgeons and four areas of focus at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell have achieved accreditation from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) for their high standards and commitment to the delivery of quality patient care and safety across a range of surgical specialties.
Capital Health physicians who received the SRC Surgeon of Excellence designation include Colorectal Surgeon Dr. Ashlee Godshalk Ruggles (for colorectal surgery and minimally invasive surgery); OB/GYN Dr. Anne Walker (for minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery); and Drs. Robert Berk (OB/GYN), Jooyeun Chung (bariatric surgeon), Donald DeBrakeleer (urogynecologist), Joseph DellaCroce (general surgeon), Meghan Patel (OB/GYN), Kira Przybylko (OB/GYN), Audrey B. Tashjian (OB/GYN), and Gynecological Oncologist Dr. Joyce Varughese (for minimally invasive surgery). Programs at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell that received SRC’s Center of Excellence accreditation include Colorectal Surgery, Minimally Invasive Gynecology, Minimally Invasive Surgery, and Robotic Surgery.

Health care facilities and surgeons seeking SRC accreditation undergo extensive assessments and inspection processes to ensure applicants meets the SRC’s proven standards and requirements. These requirements include surgical volumes, facility equipment, clinical pathways and standardized operating procedures, an emphasis on patient education, and continuous quality assessment. Inspectors educate staff in the accredited departments on best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.
