Trenton, NJ – Capital Health announced today the completion of an expansion to its Emergency Department at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, located at 750 Brunswick Avenue in Trenton. The emergency department is now equipped with 35 beds, including three beds designated for urgent care patients, making it the largest emergency room setting in Trenton.
“This latest expansion is one of the many enhancements made to Regional Medical Center over the past several years, and more important, it speaks to our continuing commitment to provide Trenton area residents with access to advanced, comprehensive healthcare,” said Al Maghazehe, President and CEO, Capital Health.
The expanded Emergency Department at Capital Health Regional Medical Center adds to improvements made during the $100 million renovation that was completed in 2011. The need for additional capacity reflects the breadth of Capital Health’s emergency services at the Regional Medical Center campus, including the Center for Neurologic Emergency Medicine, providing specialized care for patients experiencing symptoms or complaints that are neurologic in nature, and the Bristol Myers Squibb Trauma Center for severely injured patients.
“Capital Health continues to increase the breadth of emergency care available to patients; first, through specialized emergency services and now by increasing capacity to accommodate more patients,” said Dr. William Dalsey, board certified emergency medicine physician and chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Capital Health.
