Trenton, NJ - Dr. Louis F. D’Amelio, director of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Regional Trauma Center at Capital Health has been named a lead site surveyor by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
The American College of Surgeons (ACS) consultation/verification program is designed to assist hospitals across the country in the evaluation and improvement of trauma care and provides an objective external review of institutional capabilities and performance. Lead surveyors are selected among national leaders in trauma care with expertise in trauma center regulations and regulatory affairs. Dr. D’Amelio has led the trauma team at Capital Health since 1999 and oversaw four highly successfully re-verification visits to date for the trauma program at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. As lead surveyor, Dr. D’Amelio will be responsible for coordinating review agendas, formulating site visit reports, and mentorship of junior surveyors.
