Dr. Matthew Austin, an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in adult hip and knee replacement, has been named medical director of the Center of Orthopaedic Excellence at Capital Health. Dr. Austin is also chief of the Adult Reconstruction Service at Rothman Institute.
In his role at the center of the new Rothman Institute at Capital Health partnership, Dr. Austin will lead the expansion of Capital Health’s well-established clinical programs to include Rothman Institute’s full line of orthopaedic offerings. In addition, he will oversee Rothman Institute physicians who now have privileges at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell and Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Austin received his medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine and completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He also completed his fellowship training in adult reconstruction at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital/Rothman Institute. Dr. Austin is board certified in orthopaedic surgery.
