Capital Health and Henry J. Austin Health Center are providing better access to medical care for the city’s uninsured or medically underserved residents at the Capital Health Family Health Center, located at 433 Bellevue Avenue in Trenton.
“Based on the priorities listed in the Trenton Health Team’s Community Health Needs Assessment published last year, Capital Health and Henry J. Austin Health Center are providing a wide range of medical services for the city’s underserved residents in one central location,” said Dr. Robert Remstein, vice president of Accountable Care at Capital Health.
"Bringing together the acute-level medical care of Capital Health and the comprehensive primary care of Henry J. Austin is a big step toward helping our city’s residents better manage their overall health,” said Dr. Kemi Alli, chief medical officer at Henry J. Austin Health Center.
At the Family Health Center, Capital Health offers an outpatient clinic of specialists related to, but not limited to: diabetes, hypertension and cancer. These are chronic diseases specifically found to be prevalent and mostly unmanaged in Trenton residents, according to the Trenton Health Team's report.
In February, Henry J. Austin Health Center – Bellevue opened at the Family Health Center to provide comprehensive primary care for families, including health evaluations and same-day sick appointments for adults and children.
“As a federally qualified health center, Henry J. Austin patients have access to lower cost prescriptions, social service care, patient navigation and increased access to care at multiple locations around Trenton,” said Dr. Adity Bhattacharyya, director of the new Henry J. Austin Health Center – Bellevue office.
