Capital Women in Philanthropy (CWP) is a network of caring women who share a strong commitment to the health and well-being of family, friends and community.
“Membership in CWP encourages women’s active involvement in the life of Capital Health. Collectively, women can have a significant impact on the continued growth and success of Capital Health as a dynamic regional resource for healthcare and well-being,” said Lauren Lavine, executive director of Development at Capital Health.CWP members represent a diverse group of women in the communities served by Capital Health and includes physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.

2013 grant recipients, last year CWP gave grants to support:
- Resources for training therapists in specific techniques that benefit patients with Parkinson’s disease
- Training genetic counselors in neuro-genetics and to acquire a database for neuro-genetic counseling research
- Car seat safety education and convertible car seats for low income and high-risk families provided by Capital Health injury prevention coordinators
