Elective Rotations

Cardiology

Cardiology is a 4 to 5-week elective learning experience. The resident will manage patients after cardiac surgery or interventional procedures.

Management

Management is a 4 to 5-week elective learning experience. The resident will work alongside department management to gain experience working on projects and activities related to department workflow logistics.

Trauma

Trauma is a 4 to 5-week elective learning experience. The resident will manage patients recovering from acute physical trauma events.

Neurology

Neurology is a 4 to 5-week elective learning experience. The resident will manage patients with acute neurological related disease including dedicated time in the neurocritical care unit.

Emergency Management

Residents will work alongside unit based pharmacists to facilitate provision of medications to patients in the Emergency Department. Services provided are acute patient care pharmaceutical services, medication histories, order evaluation and patient counseling. Primary focus is transitional care aspects of pharmacy services within the emergency department and pediatric care services.

Additional Elective Rotation Selections

Possible upon individual discussion with the program and in conjunction with pharmacy services provided at Capital Health.

Residents may repeat a core rotational experience later in the year with more advanced objectives and expectations.
