Dr. Rishi Patel is fellowship trained rheumatologist with experience diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal diseases and systemic autoimmune conditions that affect the joints, muscles and bones.
Dr. Patel attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, where he graduated with honors as he earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics, in addition to earning his Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on medical devices. After earning his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Patel completed his internal medicine residency at Cooper University Hospital/Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, NJ. Dr. Patel completed his rheumatology fellowship at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Medical Center, part of Northwell Health/Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University in Queens, NY, where he trained with world-renowned experts in rheumatology. He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
In an academic setting, Dr. Patel was a teaching associate at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University, where he taught medical students and medical residents in rheumatology. He was also a teaching assistant for both immunology and physiology courses at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Patel has published case reports in medical journals, and he has presented posters at regional medical conferences. Dr. Patel has won awards and received recognition for his research.
Fluent in English and Gujarati and conversant in Hindi and Spanish, Dr. Patel is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians. In his spare time, Dr. Patel enjoys rooting for the New York Mets, the New York Giants, the Brooklyn Nets and the New Jersey Devils. He also enjoys traveling, biking and skiing.
