This psychoeducational group provides participants experiencing symptoms of anxiety with evidence-based coping strategies through the use of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). DBT is a behavioral approach that aims to empower you to utilize skills in an effort to be more effective and find balance in your life. The goal of DBT is to assist with increasing desired behaviors and/or decreasing undesirable behavior. This course will provide participants with education in five main skill areas, including mindfulness, distress tolerance, walking the middle path, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Participants will have an opportunity to practice and process learned skills in a supportive, nonjudgmental and therapeutic environment.
