What happens if a resident misses time during the year due to illness or other event?
Residents who require extended leave for greater than 2 weeks are required to discuss making up the time at the end of the residency year with the program and pharmacy directors. Extending the program may be necessary if goals and objectives of the program are not met due to extended leave.
If the resident is unable to complete the requirements of the program within the residency year due to extended professional, family or sick leave, they may be granted a leave of absence at the discretion of the RPD and Director of Pharmacy. The resident must compete all rotational time including staffing shifts missed while on leave.
What are the requirements for successful completion of the residency?
- The entire residency completion requirements are detailed in the residency manual which will be provided to you upon invitation for interview if selected.

Completion of rotations and learning experiences involves making progress towards independently performing the activities tied to the Goals and Objectives defined within each experience. Progress is monitored via the Pharmacademic® system (ASHP endorsed and required).
- Completion of BLS, ACLS and PALS certification courses are required.
- Completion of a research project and presentation at a relevant professional conference and manuscript worthy of submission to appropriate journal.
