COVID-19 Testing at Capital Health

Can I get a COVID -19 test at Capital Health?

Our Emergency Departments provide testing for patients who present with symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, respiratory difficulty, etc.) after a test is deemed necessary by our emergency physicians upon examination. Our Emergency Departments do not provide testing for non-symptomatic persons who require testing for travel or other personal reasons. The type of test that is used (rapid result or regular priority) is determined by the severity of symptoms and whether a patient is being admitted or discharged from the Emergency Department.

All inpatients being emergently admitted to Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell and Capital Health Regional Medical Center for any diagnosis are tested for COVID-19 with rapid tests.

All patients undergoing an elective operation or other invasive procedure at Capital Health are tested for COVID-19. The type of test that is used (rapid result or regular priority) is determined by the time between scheduling and the procedure.
