Dr. Jyoti Bhatia is a fellowship trained and board certified gastroenterologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of general diseases of the digestive system. She completed her residency, chief residency and fellowship training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. As Chief Medical Resident, she received the House Staff Achievement Award for exceptional service to the residency program. During her final year as a senior fellow, she was awarded the Hess Fellowship Excellence Award.
Dr. Bhatia is focused on providing patient-centered and compassionate care. She specializes in colon cancer screening, management of reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel disease, inflammatory bowel disease, liver and pancreatic diseases, rectal bleeding and hemorrhoidal issues. She has significant experience in performing procedures including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy, bleeding control, Bravo pH study, esophageal dilatation, enteroscopy, and small bowel capsule endoscopy.
As an active member of the Capital Health Medical Staff, she teaches medical residents and serves on the Professional Practice Committee. Dr. Bhatia also serves as the Chief of Gastroenterology at Capital Health, and as the lead physician of the Capital Health - Gastroenterology Specialists' Hopewell office.
Dr. Bhatia was previously a partner at Mercer Gastroenterology (now Capital Health – Gastroenterology Specialists) and has been a member of the Capital Health Medical Staff since 2004.
