Jamal Hussain, MDJamal Hussain, MD
Program Director

Dr. Jamal Hussain is an attending physician in the Emergency Departments at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell and Capital Health Regional Medical Center and has more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine.

Dr. Hussain recieved his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey and completed his emergency medicine residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. Dr. Hussain is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Before joining Capital Health, Dr. Hussain was an emergency medicine consultant physician at a teaching hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for 11 years, where he also served as the Emergency Medicine Residency associate program director, and later, program director.

Anuja Trivedi, DO, MPHAnuja Trivedi, DO, MPH
Associate Program Director

Dr. Trivedi is a physician in the Emergency Department at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. She received her medical degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York and received her Master of Public Health degree (with a concentration in health systems and policy) at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Trivedi completed her emergency medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Marco Anshien, MDMarco Anshien

Dr. Marco Anshien earned his bachelor degree in Biology at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia; while working as an EMT and a science tutor. He then received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia. Dr. Anshien completed his emergency medicine residency at Temple University Hospital. During residency he was a medical student clerkship leader, worked part time as a USMLE tutor, and was awarded Resident Teacher of the Year.

After graduation Dr. Anshien worked at the Pine Ridge Indian Health Service Hospital in South Dakota before joining Capital Health. Dr. Anshien currently enjoys working at all four of Capital Health’s Emergency Departments.

Lara Samson, MDLara Samson, MD

Dr. Samson is the medical director of the Chest Pain Center at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell and an emergency medicine physician at Capital Health. She provides care for patients in the Emergency Department and the Pediatric Emergency Department at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell and the Emergency Department at Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Samson received her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she also received her Master of Medical Science degree. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. Dr. Samson is board certified and a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).

Before joining the Emergency Medicine Residency program, Dr. Samson instructed physician assistant students and internal medicine residents on their emergency medicine rotations. She is a member of the American Association of Emergency Medicine and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.

Brendan Stringfellow, MDBrendan Stringfellow, MD

Dr. Brendan Stringfellow is a board-certified emergency medicine attending physician. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. Dr. Stringfellow completed his emergency medicine residency at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, New Jersey. After residency, he completed a fellowship in EMS & disaster medicine with Rutger’s Health in Newark, NJ.

Dr. Brendan Stringfellow is a member of both the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP). In addition to his roles within the emergency department as an attending physician, he is also heavily involved in the EMS system as the SCTU medical director.

Matthew Tripod, MDMatthew Tripod, MD

Dr. Tripod is an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Capital Health Regional Medical Center and Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell. After receiving his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Tripod completed an emergency medicine residency at Temple University Hospital (TUH) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also completed an Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship at Temple University Hospital.

Jessica Williams, MDJessica Williams, MD

Dr. Jessica Williams is a board-certified emergency medicine attending physician at Capital Health. She received her medical degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Dr. Williams completed her emergency medicine residency at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Dr. Williams completed her fellowship in non-operative sports medicine at Geisinger Medical Center - Northeast. Dr. Williams is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and the American College of Sports Medicine.
