Ajay Choudhri, MD
Chairman and Medical Director, Department of Radiology
Dr. Choudhri received his medical degree from the New Jersey Medical School, UMDNJ, Newark. His residency in radiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, was followed by a fellowship in interventional radiology at the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute. He previously served as chief of Interventional Radiology at Jackson South Hospital in Miami. He is board certified in radiology and vascular medicine.

Brad Hoppenfeld, MD
Assistant Director, Department of Radiology
Medical Director, Mammography and Breast Interventions
Dr. Hoppenfeld received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He joined Capital Health from Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton, NJ, where he was the head of interventional radiology, and from Kennedy Hospital System, Cherry Hill, NJ, where he specialized in both diagnostic and interventional radiology.
Dr. Hoppenfeld received his fellowship training from Montefiore Medical Center & Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY in cardio-thoracic, vascular and interventional radiology with clinical expertise in general radiology including: MRI/MRA, CT, ultrasound, fluorography, nuclear medicine, all facets of interventional radiology, and mammography. He has a special interest in mammography and breast procedures including biopsies and MRI.

Yaakov N. Applbaum, MD
Chief, Neuroradiology Section
Dr. Applbaum was chairman and medical director of the Department of Radiology at Capital Health from 2002-2017. Prior to that, he was chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Staten Island University Hospital. A graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, he completed his residency in radiology at Maimonides Medical Center in New York, followed by a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at University California Irvine. Dr. Applbaum is a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology, with certifications in neuroradiology, interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology. With more than thirty years of experience in interventional radiology and neuroradiology, including spine pain management procedures, Dr. Applbaum has been featured as an Inside Jersey Top Doctor, and Castle Connolly Top Doctor for the New York Metro Area.

Bharathi Batchu, MD
Dr. Batchu is board certified in diagnostic radiology with more than a decade of clinical experience. She completed her radiology residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (part of Saint Barnabas Health System) in Newark, New Jersey and a body MRI imaging fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Batchu received her medical degree from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in Bangalore, India. She has research experience from the Functional MRI Research Center at Columbia University, in New York, New York and the Cardiac Imaging and Analysis Laboratory at the New York University School of Medicine in New York, New York.
Before joining Capital Health, Dr. Batchu worked at Hackensack Meridian Health, as well as hospitals and diagnostic imaging centers throughout New Jersey. Dr. Batchu’s clinical interests include body MRI and breast imaging and breast intervention. She has extensive experience in cross sectional imaging as well as image-guided breast interventions. Dr. Batchu is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Breast Imaging and the American College of Radiology.
Anthony Andres R. DePalma, MD
Dr. DePalma received his medical degree from and completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. He completed an interventional radiology fellowship at Rush University in Chicago, IL. He is board certified in radiology. Dr. DePalma has special interests in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease, uterine fibroids, pelvic congestion syndrome, varicoceles, and vertebral augmentation procedures. He is fluent in Spanish.

Sangit B. Malliah, MD
Dr. Malliah received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. He completed his residency at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden and received his fellowship training in body imaging from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

James L. Montuori, DO
Dr. Montuori graduated with high honors from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NJ. He completed his radiology residency and served as chief resident at Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ. He completed an MRI/body imaging fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is board certified in radiology. Dr. Montuori was previously at Lourdes Health System where he served on the medical executive committee as a member, secretary, and treasurer as well as on the quality assurance committee. Dr. Montuori also served as the MRI division chief before joining Capital Health in August 2018. He specializes in musculoskeletal (MSK) and body imaging including ultrasound, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine/PET.

Matthew A. Neimark, MD
Dr. Neimark received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from MIT as well as his medical and PhD degrees from Columbia University School of Physicians & Surgeons, New York, NY. His residency in diagnostic radiology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center-Brooklyn, NY was followed by a neuroradiology/interventional/vascular radiology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center-Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.

Richard E. Rosenthal, DO
Dr. Rosenthal is a graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, and completed his residency in radiology at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals. He received his fellowship training in MRI at University of Pittsburgh. He was a radiologist at Cooper University Medical Center for many years prior to coming to Capital Health. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology.

Rebecca L. Sahlman, MD
Dr. Sahlman received her medical degree from Hahnemann University, She completed her residency in diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine at Cooper Health System, Camden, NJ. She also completed a fellowship in abdominal imaging from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She spent 12 years at Kennedy Health System in South Jersey as director of Ultrasound and Cross-Sectional Imaging/Protocols. She is board certified in radiology, She is member of the American College of Radiology and specializes in breast imaging and intervention as well as oncologic and body imaging.
Erich R. Schoenman, DO
Dr. Schoenman is board certified in diagnostic radiology and received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology from Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he was chief resident and went on to work as a general radiologist after his residency. He also completed a mini fellowship in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging from the American College of Radiology.
As a major in the United States Army, Dr. Schoenman held various leadership roles while at Tripler Medical Center, including chief of cardiac imaging, and chief of computed tomography (CT).

Eric I. Schwartz, MD
Dr. Schwartz completed a fellowship in body imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. A graduate of Jefferson Medical College, he completed his residency in radiology at Cooper University Medical Center. He received his fellowship training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, NY. He is board certified in radiology by the American Board of Radiology, and previously was a body imaging specialist at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital and Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia.

Shrita Marie Smith, MD
Dr. Smith received her medical degree from Rutgers Medical School, Newark, NJ. Her diagnostic radiology residency was completed at Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, NY. She is fellowship trained in musculoskeletal radiology at Hospital for Special Surgery, NY. Dr. Smith is an active member in the American College of Radiology (ACR) and American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS). She specializes in collegiate and professional sports imaging and musculoskeletal interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. She is board certified in radiology.

Dr. Soloveychik, fluent in Ukranian and Russian, is a graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. She completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center/UPMC Mercy, followed by her fellowship training in neuroradiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Department of Radiology in Baltimore, MD. She is board certified in radiology.

Nylah Fatima Wasti, MD
Dr. Wasti received her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Charlottesville, VA. She completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA, serving as chief resident. She received the Radiological Society of North America’s Roentgen Research Award. She completed her fellowship training in breast imaging and intervention at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Post-fellowship she served as faculty at Jefferson for more than seven years as an assistant professor, with an esteemed Dean’s Award for Excellence in Education.
Dr. Wasti is passionate about providing the highest quality patient care with sincere compassion. She is also a dedicated humanitarian with multiple causes including Imamia Medics International, a United Nations (UN) accredited nonprofit doctors organization, where she has served two terms on their board of directors. She has traveled extensively and has participated in women's issues conferences at the UN in New York City. Dr. Wasti specializes in breast imaging and image-guided procedures.
