Dr. Scott Burke received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Philadelphia and completed his residency and internship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He completed his fellowship training in cardiovascular disease at Georgetown University, VA Medical Center and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
His current clinical interests include:
• Consultative cardiac electrophysiology
• Catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias including complex ablation procedures
• Implantation of loop recorders, pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronization devices
• Implantation of subcutaneous defibrillators
• Lead extraction procedures including complex lead management, laser extraction and venoplasty
• Expertise in intracardiac echocardiography including active faculty and proctoring work
• Expertise in trans-septal catheterization including active faculty and proctoring work
• Left atrial appendage closure procedures including watchman implants and lariat procedures
• Remote follow up of pacemakers, defibrillators, loop recorders and implantable cardiac monitors
Prior to joining Capital Health – Cardiology Specialists, Dr. Burke was president and managing partner of Mercer Bucks Cardiology and director of The Arrhythmia Institute. He served as director of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and chair of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Committee at St. Mary Medical Center. He is a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Heart Association.
