Dr. Richard Hyman is board certified in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac CT. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and received his fellowship training in cardiology at Hahnemann University Hospital, all in Philadelphia.
Dr. Hyman was previously with Mercer Bucks Cardiology for almost 30 years, since its inception. There he served as medical director of the Echocardiography Laboratory and medical director of Cardiac Rehabilitation Services at Capital Health, as well as vice chief of the Cardiology Section at Capital Health.
His clinical interests include:
- Preventive cardiology (including lipid management)
- Coronary artery disease
- Congestive heart failure
- Valvular heart disease
- Arrhythmias
Dr. Hyman has been involved in many clinical research trials evaluating the effectiveness and safety of various drug therapies and also has experience as a principal site investigator.
Dr. Hyman has been named a Top Physician by Suburban Life magazine. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Hyman takes great pride in providing compassionate and comprehensive cardiovascular care to his patients.
Married with three children, Dr. Hyman enjoys spending his time away from work with family and friends. He is a true Philadelphia sports fan and like participating in athletic activities, including biking and basketball.
