Dr. Nikolas Kappy is a fellowship trained trauma and critical care surgeon and a board certified general surgeon.
Dr. Kappy received his medical degree from Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School, in Newark NJ and completed his general surgery residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ, where he was a research fellow in the Department of Surgery and also served as general surgery administrative chief resident. He completed his fellowship training in trauma and surgical critical care at UC San Diego Health in San Diego, CA.
Dr. Kappy has published research in peer-reviewed medical journals and delivered podium and poster presentations at national, regional, and local forums. As a volunteer, he has provided free ambulatory medical care to the inner city population of Newark, NJ and aided in surgical care and provided mobile medical support to villages and orphanages in Ghana. He is actively engaged in trauma-related public education initiatives, including the nationwide Stop The Bleed campaign.
