Shahzaib Elahi, DO
Dr. Elahi received his medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York, New York, after which he worked for health care systems in Dallas, Texas and Pittsburgh and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. Dr. Elahi was drawn to the Emergency Medicine Residency Program by the diverse patient population and acuity/pathology between our two hospitals, as well as faculty and leadership who genuinely enjoy being a part of learning and professional growth.
Ultrasound is one of Dr. Elahi’s particular areas of focus in Emergency Medicine. He is fluent in Urdu/Hindi, and in his free time enjoys running, watching whatever binge-able show he can find, exploring new places and food, and reading thriller novels.
Daniel Forrest, DO
Dr. Forrest was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He first became interested in Emergency Medicine when he worked as a scribe during his undergraduate studies. Dr. Forrest also worked in research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center before attending medical school.
Dr. Forrest is fluent in Spanish and enjoys traveling, with Peru and Guatemala among his favorite destinations. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, volleyball, hiking, doughnuts, and anything related to Harry Potter.
Ian Pavlak, MD
Dr. Pavlak received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He completed undergraduate studies in biochemistry and molecular biology at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. Dr. Pavlak’s areas of interest in Emergency Medicine include emergency medical services and administration.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Pavlak enjoys playing soccer and golf, working out, and going on walks with his golden doodle Tucker. He chose Capital Health for many reasons but he really appreciated the ability to work at two very unique Emergency Departments and the value that would add to his education.
Camellia Nabati-Lofrese, MD
Dr. Nabati-Lofrese received her medical degree from St. George’s Medical School in Grenada, West Indies and completed her clinical rotations at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey.
Before becoming a doctor, Dr. Nabati-Lofrese worked as an electrical engineer in the Washington D.C./Virginia and New York metropolitan areas for several years. She received her bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and hardware applications followed by a master’s degree in electrical engineering (with a biomedical concentration) from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Fluent in Farsi and English, Dr. Nabati-Lofrese enjoys reading, learning to cook healthy dishes, and spending time with her family.
Janki Patel, DO
Dr. Janki Patel graduated from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine after completing an accelerated seven-year BS/DO program, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in life sciences with a concentration in osteopathy.
Dr. Patel is fluent in Gujarati, Hindi, and English. In her free time, she enjoys fine arts, hiking, and reading.
Dmitriy Podlog, DO
Dr. Dmitriy Podlog graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences, after which he spent some time scribing in the Emergency Department in St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He later received his medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Podlog is fluent in English and Russian. He enjoys spending his free time watching TV shows and movies, snowboarding, exercising, playing piano, and spending time with his family and friends.
