Meet Our Clinical Faculty

Omega D. Ball, MD, MBSOmega D. Ball, MD, MBS
Associate Medical Director, Capital Health Hospitalist Group

Dr. Ball is the Associate Medical Director of the Capital Health Hospitalist Group and Site Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. She oversees the hospitalist medicine program and serves on multiple committees throughout Capital Health. She holds special interest in Clinical Informatics and working to improve patient outcomes through technology. Dr. Ball is a graduate of The University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL where she also completed her Internal Medicine Residency training.

Ajay Choudhri, MDAjay Choudhri, MD

Chairman and Medical Director, Department of Radiology

Dr. Ajay Choudhri is the director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and chairman and medical director of Radiology at Capital Health. He is a founding member of the private radiology group Capital Health Advanced Imaging, PC and has been instrumental in the growth of the group since its inception in 2003.

Dr. Choudhri maintains board certifications in diagnostic radiology and endovascular medicine. He is fellowship trained in vascular and interventional radiology. His clinical expertise is in advanced imaging and treatment of vascular disease.

He maintains active interest in health care policy, economics, bioinformatics and entrepreneurship. He currently serves as a member of the Capital Health Board of Directors, as well as various committees at Capital Health, including Professional Practice Committee, Neuroscience Steering Committee, Heart and Vascular Steering Committee and currently chairs the Heart and Vascular Case Conference.

Jamal Hussain, MDJamal Hussain, MD
Director, Emergency Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Jamal Hussain is an attending physician in the Emergency Departments at Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell and Capital Health Regional Medical Center and has more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine.

Dr. Hussain recieved his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey and completed his emergency medicine residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. Dr. Hussain is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Michael KalinaMichael Kalina, DO, FACOS, FACS
Medical Director, Acute Care Surgery
Capital Health Surgical Group

Dr. Michael Kalina is a board certified general surgeon who holds specialty certification in surgical critical, trauma, and acute care surgery. Dr. Kalina has extensive experience in emergency general surgery, surgical critical care, gastrointestinal surgery, and complex hernia repair. Dr. Kalina has served as the Medical Director of Acute Care Surgery at Capital Health for many years. Dr. Kalina holds the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Rowan University and Temple University and Clinical Instructor in Surgery at the Physician Assistant programs in Drexel University, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Arcadia University. Dr. Kalina is actively involved in clinical research, as a principle investigator on a number of FDA approved trials. Dr. Kalina is actively involved in teaching and academics, as a member of the core teaching faculty at Capital Health and in his oversight of the students and residents that rotate on the surgical service.

Puthenmadam Radhakrishnan, MD, MPH, FAAPPuthenmadam Radhakrishnan, MD, MPH, FAAP

Dr. Radhakrishnan is a general Pediatric Practitioner, who is the founder and medical director at Bellevue Pediatrics. His experience includes more than 25 yrs as a pediatric emergency physician. He mentors and encourages students and residents to publish. He currently is on faculty at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine PA program, Rowan University College of Osteopathic Medicine DO program, and the Temple University MD program. He also mentors NP students from many universities. His interests include advocacy for Immunizations, Asthma care in children, Lead Poisoning, Practice Management. He is an active member of the NJ chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Radhakrishnan has been an active member of the medical staff at Capital Health for more than 32 years and has served as the chairman of the Department of Pediatrics.

Satvik Shah, DOSatvik Shah, DO

Dr. Satvik Shah is a fellowship trained cardiologist and is board certified in internal medicine. He received his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ, where he also completed his fellowship training in cardiology (serving as chief fellow), his internal medicine residency, and an internal medicine internship (serving as chief intern).

Dr. Prachi Thanawala is board certified in echocardiography, cardiology, and internal medicine. She was fellowship trained in cardiology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey and completed her internal medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Thanawala received her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
